Columbia University Teacher’s College Study

What about experienced principals? A recent study by Columbia University Teacher’s College Professor Eleanor Drago-Severson studied 25 principals and their method for avoiding principal burnout. She explored the ways principals can renew themselves to prevent burnout, and concluded that the best method is meeting regularly with other professionals to reflect on practice. Only three of the school leaders in the sample had actually carved time out to meet with other professionals to reflect on practice and goal setting (Drago-Severson).

CoachED is a resource for those schools who want to assist school administrators in avoiding burnout and providing for a more productive engaged leadership team.
